The Adventures of Beowulf

Dive into the Anglo-Saxon world of myth and monsters and join storyteller Lizzie Bryant for an action-packed, family-friendly, performance of the Old English tale of the warrior Beowulf and the monsters that brought him fame.

Enjoy hands-on Saxon and Viking- themed activities, games and replica object handling with Castle Hill Heritage Skills. Age guide 7-12. The event will be 2 1/2 hours long with the story told in 3 parts and hands-on crafts in between which you will get to take home with you. We will finish the session with historical games and heddle weaving.

The event takes place twice in one day so choose your timeslot:
10.am-12.30pm OR 2.00pm to 4.30pm

Bring your own refreshments and folding chair should you need one.

This event is part of the National Library Culture Quest adventure- come and earn a stamp with us!

Event takes place at Tumbledown Community Grow-space, Saturday 22nd August 2026.

All children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.
Child places £5 Adult places FREE.

This event is also part of the National Culture Quest scheme run by libraries, so by attending, participants get a stamp in their Culture Quest Passport.

Easter Self Guided Family Trail at RSPB Radipole Lake

Become a nature detective and follow the clues to find the missing nest materials hidden around the reserve. Help our birds build brilliant nests for their eggs and chicks. Children must be accompanied, please.

No need to book, turn up anytime between 10am and 3pm and pay in the RSPB Radipole Lake Discovery Centre. Available every day during the Easter Holidays Fri 29th March–Sun 14th April, £1 per child.
