TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF VARIOUS ROADS, WEYMOUTH

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 as amended. All vehicles, cyclists and horse riders will be prohibited from proceeding along Various Roads, Weymouth as listed: [i] Spa Road between Dorchester Road and Queens Road; [ii] Spa Road between Kings Road and Radipole Park Drive; [iii] Queens Road between Spa Road and Coronation Road. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 2nd March 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 2nd April 2026. These works are programmed to commence from 2nd March 2026 until 2nd April 2026 in phases: [1] Spa Road between 2nd March 2026 – 20th March 2026 and [2] Queens Road between 16th March 2026 – 2nd April 2026. Only one closure will be in place at a time.

This Order will enable SGN to carry out gas main replacement works.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.
