Weymouth’s Community Expo returns for third year!
Following on from the success of last year’s event, Weymouth Town Council’s Community Expo returns in May at the town’s iconic Jubilee Clock.
The event is a twist on the Council’s annual town meeting where you can find out more about council services and projects, and it also highlights the work of voluntary and community groups operating in the town for the benefit of Weymouth’s communities. Plus, you will also get the chance to meet the new Mayor of Weymouth.
If you are a local charity or community group who would like to take part and run a stall at the free event, then Weymouth Town Council would love to hear from you.
Jane Biscombe, Weymouth Town Council’s Town Clerk, said: “The Community Expo provides a fantastic opportunity to showcase the work of the many voluntary, community and charitable organisations that operate in Weymouth as it’s a really useful networking event.
“We hope to see many more people coming along to the drop-in event happening at Jubilee Clock this year, which will be a great way to find out more about all the fantastic work that is currently happening in Weymouth for the benefit of the town’s different communities.”
Last year there were stalls ranging from Dorset Police, Friends of Weymouth & Portland Hospital, Age Uk, Royal Voluntary Service, Big 4 Littlemoor, Nothe Fort, Hangers Heroes, as well as a range of stalls promoting the work of Weymouth Town Council.
The event runs from 11am to 2pm on Saturday 18th May, with stalls located by the Jubilee Clock.
If your organisation would like a stall at the Community Expo 2024, email charlotteemery@weymouthtowncouncil.gov.uk by Friday 3rd May, midday.
