Statement Confirms No Sewage Spill on Weymouth Beach

Following a report of a sewage spill on Weymouth Beach on Thursday 16th July, a statement from Weymouth Town Council is below correcting the misinformation:

“We would like to reassure residents and visitors that there was no sewage spill affecting Weymouth Beach. On Thursday afternoon (16th July) a report received from a member of public was investigated and was found to be unfounded.

“As a result, beach users were able to continue swimming and enjoying the area as normal. If you have any concerns about sewage discharges, up-to-date information is available from your local water company, which provides live alerts on the status of storm overflows. Current conditions remain dry, reducing the likelihood of storm overflow discharges.”
