New fitness event is coming to Weymouth in 2020
Just Racing (UK) are extremely proud to announce that in 2020, Weymouth will host what is expected to be one of the biggest fitness competitions on the south coast over the weekend of 13th – 14th June.
Para Bellum Weymouth will see 100 teams of 2 men and 2 women compete on Weymouth beach. Teams will compete in 8 gruelling fitness events designed to test not only individual fitness, but the team’s ability to work together overcoming challenges to ultimately determine who is the fittest.
But this is so much more than just a test of fitness: this is about community and who you are representing. It’s about your team spirit, your supporters, friends and family, whilst having fun, proving your fitness and being the best you can be.
The event organisers are delighted to be partnering with local hospice Weldmar, where teams will have the option of competing for free whilst raising funds for these end of life care providers.
Alan Rose, Director of Just Racing (UK) said, “We are really excited to be organising what can only be described as an event that is a true test of fitness and something that is suitable for a variety of teams from gyms, clubs and organisations across the UK. We have the perfect arena
with Weymouth beach and the Jurassic Coast and can’t wait to share it with the teams, supporters, families and Weymouth town.”
Nobody will know what the tests of fitness will be until the evening before the event begins, so individuals will need to prepare for strength, endurance, speed and agility as well as teamwork.
Head Judge and Level 2 CrossFit trainer, Katie Muncie said, “We want to make sure we challenge all of the teams and their functional fitness, so programming the events correctly is key. We are looking forward to designing, testing and developing the events over the next 10 months to ensure we have an amazing set of 8 events to truly test the 100 teams.”
The early bird tickets will be available from Friday 30th August with a maximum of 100 teams.
