Free Family Summer Event at Tumbledown Community Growspace

Families are invited to join in with a free summer event at Tumbledown Community Growspace on Friday 28th August, from 10am to 1pm.

The theme for this year’s event is ‘Patterns in Nature’ and features a variety of activities for people of all ages to enjoy, including crafts, mural painting and a range of outdoor games. Plus, you can showcase your creativity by making bunting using a style of printing called cyanotype.

Visitors can explore the on-site nature trail and watch a fantastic demonstration about honey as Tumbledown also has its own bees.

The Tumbledown workshop will be welcoming guests in for woodwork sessions to create flowers and bat boxes to take home as a wonderful souvenir from the day. Refreshments will also be available to buy.

Mayor of Weymouth, Cllr David Harris, said: “If you’re looking for some inspiration to keep children entertained in the school holidays, then why not come along to Tumbledown’s Family Summer Event on Friday 28th August? Enjoy a great day out in nature while getting creative with crafts, games, mural painting, woodwork sessions and a honey demonstration. It is shaping up to be a wonderful day for all the family.

“Tumbledown is a fantastic community asset and events like this really showcase all that the site has to offer.”

Tumbledown Community Growspace is located on Radipole Lane in Southill, with signage in place at the entrance. Please note that parking is limited on site, so people are encouraged to walk or cycle where possible. For more information, visit the website
