Families Invited to Free Autumn Event at Tumbledown

People of all ages are invited to end half term in style by attending a free autumn event at Tumbledown Community Growspace on Friday 30th October from 10am – 1pm.

With the event taking place just before Halloween, there are plenty of pumpkins grown on site that are just waiting to be carved into fun designs, so this is your chance to showcase your creativity!

Families can also follow a spooky trail to explore the grounds and join Primary Forest School for some exciting activities in the woods.

The workshop will be open for visitors to try their hand at woodwork by making bird, bat and Swift boxes, with help and support from volunteers.

Children will have the chance to get creative in the kitchen and come away with some sweet treats, as biscuit decorating and cake making will also be on offer.

If you are feeling artistic, why not pick up a paint brush and add to the wonderful mural that is being painted on site? Refreshments will also be available to purchase to keep you going on a jam-packed day.

Mayor of Weymouth, Cllr David Harris, said: “The autumn event at Tumbledown takes place on Friday 30th October and promises to be a super day out for all the family, and a great way to end the half term break.

“There will be a wonderful variety of seasonal activities, including pumpkin carving, woodwork, crafts and mural painting, with plenty of opportunity to get creative, have fun, and enjoy being in the great outdoors. I would encourage residents to attend this free event and discover just what Tumbledown Community Growspace can offer.”

Please note, there will be a small charge for the woodwork and pumpkin carving activities. No prior booking is required as slots can be booked on the day.

Tumbledown is located on Radipole Lane in Southill. Parking is limited on site, so people are encouraged to walk, cycle, or use public transport where possible. For more information on Tumbledown, please visit the website.
