Drop-in Session Planned Ahead of Referendum

If you want to understand the difference between the Weymouth Neighbourhood Plan (WNP) and the Dorset Local Plan, Weymouth Town Council is hosting a free drop-in session on Wednesday 26th November.

From 4.30pm to 6.30pm, join members of the WNP Steering Group who will be on hand to guide you through the differences between the two plans and answer any queries you may have. The drop-in session takes place in the Council Chamber at The New Town Hall on Commercial Road.

The session is being held in the run-up to the referendum on the Neighbourhood Plan which takes place on Thursday 11th December – make your voice heard and vote! On polling day residents will be asked ‘Do you want Dorset Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Weymouth to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?’

The Neighbourhood Plan is separate to Dorset Council’s Local Plan, so if you want to understand the difference between them and what they mean for Weymouth, come along to the drop-in session to find out more.

To vote in the referendum you must be on the electoral register. Visit Dorset Council’s website to find out more details on how to register. Polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm on Thursday 11th December. Dorset Council will provide details on where to find your polling station to vote in this referendum. You do not need to take your poll card with you to the polling station to vote, but you must take photo ID.

For full details on the Weymouth Neighbourhood Plan, visit Weymouth Town Council’s website.
