Bench Memorialisation – Opportunity on Weymouth Seafront

One of the objectives in Weymouth Town Council’s Seafront Strategy is to update and improve public seating along the promenade. As part of the work to upgrade the benches in these areas, the Council can now make available an opportunity for members of the public who wish to memorialise a seafront bench. This opportunity will secure a bench in this stunning location with a memorialisation plaque for a period of 10 years, or for the lifetime of the bench, whichever comes first.

The benches will provide wonderful views of the sea and surrounding area, and be in the heart of the resort. There will be a limited number of benches in this prime seafront location, so it is expected demand will be high.

Application information

If you are interested in memorialising one of the seafront benches in this scheme, we are inviting applicants to send a completed application form to: benches@weymouthtowncouncil.gov.uk

All applications can only be accepted if submitted on an official application form. Applications will be treated on a first come first served basis and it is important to note that the sponsorship of a bench is for ten years or the lifetime of the bench, whichever comes sooner.

All sponsorship costs will be confirmed with the sponsor at the point of taking out the agreement prior to being invoiced. However, the cost will be a minimum of £2,000 plus vat (payment plans may be available on request).
