Applications open for the 2027 Greenhill Gardens Floral Bedding Design
Weymouth Town Council is looking for the next charitable organisation to feature in the 2027 floral bedding design at Greenhill Gardens. Applications are now open and organisations have until 1pm on Friday 18th September to apply.
Each year, the creative and skilled gardening team plant thousands of plants to replicate an organisation’s crest or logo in a crescent shaped bed in the centre of the gardens. The eye-catching displays are a popular attraction and help raise awareness about the work of the chosen organisation to residents and visitors.
This year, the design paid tribute to the Lexi May Trust, a charity that provides memorable days out for children who have a terminal or life limiting condition in Dorset. The design featured 15,000 individual plants to create a stunning display in the much-loved gardens and included a special addition of ten stars around the crest, to recognise the 10th anniversary of the charity.
Cllr David Harris, Mayor of Weymouth, said “The floral bedding design in Greenhill Gardens is such an important feature of the popular greenspace, and helps to draw attention to the work of some wonderful charitable organisations.
“This year’s design for the Lexi May Trust has been so skilfully crafted, and the 15,000 plants capture the logo perfectly. We have received some lovely comments about the design, and I would like to thank the gardeners for creating such a beautiful tribute.
