All you need to know about the Coronation events happening in Weymouth!
Weymouth Town Council has organised and provided grant funding for many events happening around the town over the Coronation weekend.
For one day only, busking will be allowed on Weymouth Promenade on Saturday 6th May. There will be four prime locations where musicians could have a chance of busking to a crowd along the seafront. You will need to book a slot which you can do by emailing events@weymouthtowncouncil.gov.uk
Weymouth Town Council are hosting a Community Coronation Concert at a stage located opposite Alexandra Gardens on Weymouth’s award- winning beach. The concert will be from 12pm to10pm featuring some of Weymouth’s finest local artists, along with a grand firework display in Weymouth Bay at 9.30pm.
The ‘Big Help Out’ funding where £1,000 is available to encourage community groups to take part in volunteering activities across the bank holiday weekend. Groups can apply for up to £100 towards the cost of putting on an activity. Application forms can be found on our website with the deadline to apply of Friday 28th April at midday.
Chair of Services, Cllr Ryan Hope says, “Local communities around Weymouth are coming together to celebrate the crowning of King Charles III by hosting events for local residents and visitors. There is a wealth of musical talent in Weymouth which will be showcased at the Community Coronation Concert, as well as the busking day, so why not make a weekend of it and celebrate together?
