Christmas Lights Switch On

🌟 5pm – Christmas Lights Switch On
Join us on Saturday 29th November at the New Bond Street stage where the Mayor of Weymouth, the Primary Times competition winner and the panto cast will switch on the town’s Christmas lights, trees and giant Christmas Elf. Don’t forget to join in the countdown!🎄✨

Plus, there’s a huge variety of events throughout the day to get you in the festive mood:

🎨 9am–12pm – Elf Craft Workshops
Kickstart your transformation into a fully-fledged elf with fun drop-in workshops. Make your own hats, ears and collars, and add a touch of magic with festive face-painting. ✂️🎨✨
🎟️ 12pm–1pm – Registration at Weymouth Pavilion
Head to the Pavilion to sign in, grab your wristband and be counted in the official record attempt. Don’t forget the group photo taking place at 1pm! 📸
🥁🎷 1:15pm–2pm – Dorset’s Largest Elf Parade
Watch (or join!) the streets flood with elves as the parade moves through town, filled with singing, laughter and festive cheer. A marching band and Santa in his sleigh lead the way! 🎶🎺🎅
🎤🎸 1pm–5pm – Afternoon of Live Entertainment
The main stage will be packed with performances all afternoon — expect cheeky elves, the panto cast, local choirs, dance groups, Under the Carousel, party band The Wilkinsons 🎸🎵, stilt walkers, street performers, buskers and loads of local shops and eateries joining the celebration. The perfect family festive outing! 🎄💃🧝‍♀️✨
Stick around after the lights switch on and enjoy the brilliant sounds of The Hooked 🎸🥁 before heading out to explore Weymouth’s pubs, clubs and venues — some hosting special Elf parties! 🍻🎉
🎁 All Christmas Season
• Take part in the ELF Trail, with a prize draw between Christmas and New Year offering gifts, tickets, discounts and more from local shops, attractions and restaurants. 🎁✨
• Don’t miss the Christmas Sparkle competition, where businesses dress their windows in their brightest, twinkliest festive displays. 🎄✨
