The Countdown is on to the 2026 Community Expo

The countdown is on to the return of Weymouth Town Council’s Community Expo event, which takes place on Saturday 16th May from 11am – 2pm at the Jubilee Clock on the seafront.

With over 40 stands booked showcasing the work of a range of voluntary and community organisations in Weymouth, it is shaping up to be a busy, fun and informative event. Some of the groups already signed up include:

Friends of MV Freedom
Volunteer Centre Dorset
Love Dogs West Dorset
Space Youth Project
Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance
Weymouth Football Club
Weymouth Food Bank
Friends of Greenhill Gardens
DocBike Dorset
Weymouth RNLI
Royal British Legion
Friendly Food Club
Air FM
Weymouth Street Pastors

Members of the Youth Council will be on hand providing face painting, and Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service hope to attend with one of their fire appliances, which is sure to draw the attention of any budding firefighters.

Entertainment will be provided by Weymouth Rock Choir, the Quangle Wangle Choir and other acts, as well as another chance to see the wonderful line dancing flash mob, who recently took to the seafront for a performance.

As part of the Expo, Weymouth Town Council’s Annual Town Assembly will take place at 1pm by the Jubilee Clock. Why not come along and listen to a short report from the Town Clerk or ask any questions about the Council’s services and projects.

Running alongside the Expo will be Dorset Council’s first electric vehicle event, Go Electric!, which takes place on the Esplanade from 11am –3pm, offering the chance to see electric cars up close, ask questions and experience the future of electric car driving.

Mayor of Weymouth, Cllr Caroline Nickinson, said: “If you’re heading down to Weymouth on Saturday 16th May, make sure to drop by the free Community Expo.”

“It’s shaping up to be a fantastic event which runs from 11am to 2pm with a variety of stalls located along the promenade by the Jubilee Clock. We’ve got face painting, hopefully a fire appliance for the little ones to look around, a wildflower seed giveaway, performances from community choirs, and even a spot of line dancing!”
