Saving Planet Wyke

6 June @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Free

Want to help save your planet? Want to get more involved in local sustainability projects? Want to do more but don’t know where to start? Then Saving Planet Wyke is the event for you.

The Parish of Wyke Regis Eco Church team are bringing together people and projects in the local-eco scene under one roof for the first event in their Great Big Green Week programme – Saving Planet Wyke. This event aims to engage the wider community with environmental issues in a positive way – helping people to take proactive steps in their day-to-day lives.

A number of activities will be available at Saving Planet Wyke. There will be stalls hosted by a range of environmental and sustainability groups, including The Bridge Fair Trade Shop, the Weymouth Climate Hub, and Dorset Wildlife Trust, providing a great opportunity to network and find out more about the work of these groups.

There will be hands-on activities, including a natural voices workshop, and talks from local organisations including Annie and Simon Pugh-Jones of Isle of Portland Orchids, as recently featured on BBC Gardener’s World.

Saving Planet Wyke is a free-entry event taking place at the St Edmund’s Church Hall, 1-5pm on Saturday 6th June. Refreshments will be available, as well as a raffle to win an eco-friendly hamper. People are encouraged, where possible, to consider low-carbon means of transport to the fair, such as walking, cycling, or taking the bus – the X53 bus stop is right outside the church.
