Sparks Wellbeing Centre was awarded £5,000 towards refurbishing the football and basketball pen area, a well-used community sports facility by Southill play area.

Sutton Poyntz Mission Hall Management Trust were awarded £2,884. The Mission Hall in the village is 134 years old and used for a variety of community uses. The money will go towards rebuilding the porch wall and its roof. Guttering and water butts will also be added.

£1,050 was agreed for The Bubble community space in Weymouth to provide suitable seating, and heating so that older people, vulnerable residents, and community groups can attend activities throughout the year, particularly during colder months.

The King’s Dip Project received £2,798 towards completing some of the work people involved in the project have produced, including a children’s storybook about Weymouth’s history, workshop and costume costs, as well as event costs to showcase the work. It involves eight schools, two academies, one college and many volunteers.

£2,000 was agreed for Wessex Folk Festival to fund a roving children’s entertainer over the two days of the festival, and two arches to provide more of a welcome to the event.

Weymouth Museum Trust received £4,400 to invest in a range of materials and provide free children’s activities for an upcoming exhibition called Harbour and High Street.

In addition, two Service Level Agreements (SLA) were also awarded. STEPS Club for Young People will receive an SLA of £5,000 for the next three years. The Nest will also receive £5,000 for the next three years to continue to provide a social supermarket for the benefit of Weymouth residents.
