Weymouth Water Fest 2026 – All you need to know
The countdown is on to Weymouth Water Fest, which takes place on Saturday 12th September 2026 from 10am – 3pm. Residents of all ages are invited to attend the free event, which features a range of activities, workshops, water sport taster sessions, and entertainment.
Activities will take place on Weymouth Beach, in front of the Beach Office, and there will be a range of information stalls along the promenade. Come and see Dorset Coast Forum, Weymouth Climate Hub, and Weymouth Museum, who will be displaying some of the amazing artwork from this year’s King’s Dip event. Plus, Weymouth and Portland Marine Litter Project will be taking part in the ‘Great Nurdle Hunt’, with equipment available to borrow on the day. Local handmade jewellery will be available to buy from Dorset Seaside Silver.
There will be the chance to find out about a unique and exciting sport, as Weymouth and Portland Octopush Club will be on the promenade with some leaflets and equipment to have a look at. You may just discover a new hobby!
Visitors can try out Gig Rowing with Kabincraft Adventures, and Paddleboarding with Adventure 4 All (under 16’s to be accompanied by a parent/guardian).
The friendly team from Weymouth Surf Lifesaving Club will be leading sea safety sessions, which are perfect for anyone looking to increase their confidence and key skills in and around the water.
Members of the public are also encouraged to bring their swimming gear for two chances to take a dip in the sea! Join the Beach Babes Weymouth for a ‘Dip and Donuts’ activity at 10.05am, or come and see Splash Dance for a disco dance and second opportunity to take a plunge at 2.10pm.
If you have a lifejacket, you can get some helpful tips from the RNLI, who will be providing a lifejacket clinic. Plus, youngsters will have the chance to climb aboard a display D Class lifeboat!
Weymouth Town Council are also looking forward to welcoming The Beach Access Project team, who will be bringing two brand new beach wheelchairs that can go into the sea for members of the public to have a look at. Plus, there will be the opportunity to have an assisted session to try out the new chairs with Weymouth Surf Lifesaving Club.
In an exciting addition to this year’s event, Ocean Visions Photography will be on hand with a virtual reality headset, so visitors can see and explore some of our local underwater worlds.
Entertainment will be provided by fantastic local acts including Weymouth Community Choir, Lewis Snarey, Eva Grant, Double Keys and Dorset Wrecks, plus Dave Goulden from Air Radio will be compering throughout the event.
There is no need to pre-book any activities on offer, and residents are encouraged to just turn up and have a go!

“It is great to see Weymouth Water Fest return for a third year. This free event has become a firm favourite in the town’s event calendar and provides adults and children with the chance to try out different water sports, learn something new and improve confidence in and around the water.
“From paddleboarding and gig rowing, to swim safety sessions, dancing and taking a dip in the sea, it is shaping up to be a great day for all the family. Plus, there will be live music from a variety of local artists. I hope to see as people there as possible as we enjoy a wonderful event on our beautiful waterfront – you might even discover a brand new hobby!”
