Weymouth Town Council to Host Spring Community Networking Event
Weymouth Town Council is inviting local community and voluntary groups to its next networking event on Tuesday 21st April.
The event is part of a series of networking opportunities encouraging voluntary and community groups in Weymouth to come together, share resources and hear from different speakers. The overriding theme for this event is ‘connecting community’, with Volunteer Centre Dorset scheduled to deliver a talk about barriers to volunteering, including how to make volunteering more accessible.
A summary of findings from Weymouth Town Council’s recent Community Survey will be presented by the Assistant Town Clerk. Encompass Care will also be presenting information about their new modified diet scheme for people who have difficulty chewing or swallowing food or drink safely. The event runs from 10.15am to 1pm at The New Town Hall on Commercial Road.
Mayor of Weymouth, Cllr Caroline Nickinson, said: “Weymouth Town Council’s Community Networking events provide an opportunity for different groups to come together, strengthen contacts and find out about what is going on in the local community. There are a range of talks taking place at the event, as well an opportunity for discussion and ideas sharing among the different groups and individuals. Places are limited, so please book your place in advance.”
A light buffet lunch and refreshments will be provided, along with plenty of time to network with others. Places must be booked online in advance by Wednesday 15th April via the Volunteer Centre Dorset booking system: Click here to secure your space and to advise of any allergies/dietary requirements.
Please contact communitydevelopment@weymouthtowncouncil.gov.uk if you have any questions about the event.
