Round-up of Decisions at Environment and Services Committee
Following the Environment and Services Committee meeting held on Wednesday 16th September, a round-up of key decisions is below.
20 mph speed limit survey results
Councillors voted unanimously in favour of putting forward all eight sites to Dorset Council for progression, following surveying of relevant Dorset Councillors, headteachers, and Chairs of Governors.
Winter Sea Water Testing at Greenhill
The water quality monitoring programme at Greenhill Beach is set to continue from this October to May 2027, subject to Full Council agreeing the funding. Results of the weekly testing would be made available on the Council’s website.
Allotment Review Task and Finish Group Chair
Cllr Kate Wheller was voted to chair an Allotment Review Task and Finish Group.
Climate and Ecological Emergency (CEE) Task and Finish Group recommendations
The report for agenda item 9 can be found on the website here. Option 2 in the report was agreed and will now be recommended to Full Council. A decision on CEE grants was deferred to Finance and Governance Committee, Cllr Kate Wheller was confirmed as the Chair of the CEE Task and Finish Group, and the Terms of Reference template and Code of Conduct for non-elected members included in the agenda pack will be recommended to Full Council for adoption.
