A round-up of key decisions from Weymouth Town Council’s Full Council meeting held on Wednesday 26th November is below.
Q2 Finance Monitoring
Councillors agreed to note the Quarter 2 Budget Monitoring report and Reserves Summary for the period ending 30 September 2025.
Appointment of Internal Auditor
Councillors agreed to appoint Mulberry Local Authority Services Ltd as the Internal Auditors for Weymouth Town Council to undertake the internal audit services.
Overcombe Toilet Funding
Full Council approved £64,000 from the Council’s priorities and projects budget to deliver a full and high-level refurbishment of the Overcombe toilet facilities. The total cost of the refurbishment will be £138,000 and will match the high-quality finish seen at Cove Street toilets. Works include installing card-payment operated doors, high-spec finishes, tiling, drainage improvements, redecoration, upgraded flooring, and more.
Procurement of Beach Rake
Full Council approved up to £71,000 to purchase a new surf beach rake to ensure the continued maintenance of the beach under the existing Service Level Agreement (SLA) with Dorset Council. Officers will explore joint funding opportunities with Dorset Council. The current machinery has been in use for a number of years and needs to be replaced.
