Not long to go until Weymouth’s Community Expo!

Weymouth Town Council’s Community Expo returns on Saturday 20th May at the town’s iconic Jubilee Clock.

The event is a twist on the Council’s annual town meeting highlighting the work of voluntary and community groups in the town, and also provides an opportunity for residents and visitors to find out more about council services and projects, and how you can get more involved in local decision-making.

There will also be a chance to meet the newly elected Mayor of Weymouth from 1pm at the Weymouth Town Council stand.

Mayor of Weymouth, Cllr Kate Wheller said: “I am excited to be attending the Community Expo on Saturday 20th May as one my first public engagements as the newly elected Mayor of Weymouth.

“And with around 30 stands confirmed, from external charities to community and voluntary organisations, it’s going to be a fantastic opportunity for people to come together and learn more about what Weymouth has to offer. So, whether you live in the town or you are visiting over the weekend I would encourage you to stop by the town’s Jubilee Clock and say hello.”

Groups taking part include:

Weymouth Carnival, Citizens Advice, Dorset Police, Friends of W&P Hospital, Age Uk, Royal Voluntary Service, Big 4 Littlemoor, Nothe Fort, Hangers Heros, Chesil Sailability, 5K Your Way, Weymouth Climate Hub, Dorset Council Fostering Team, Families and Babies, Air 107.2, Weymouth Street Pastors, Houseworks Dorset, Lions Club, The Waverley Community Hub, The Lantern Trust, Repair Café, Dig Friendly Social, Weymouth Football Supporters, Friends of Radipole Park, Weymouth Transport Action Group, Good News for you, Safe Families, South Dorset Read Easy, Help & Kindness, Weymouth Samaritans.
