Nominations wanted for Jubilee Clock light up scheme 2025
Do you know a local charity that could benefit from the Jubilee Clock light up scheme? Then Weymouth Town Council would love to hear from you.
In 2025 the Town Council will be lighting up Weymouth’s iconic Jubilee Clock to raise awareness for good causes with the colours that best represent the chosen charities. One charity can be represented per month, with the clock being lit for up to three days during the month.
In 2024, the clockface has been illuminated on several occasions in support of charities and awareness days nominated by the public. From Weymouth Samaritans to The Nothe Fort, the Repair Café to MV Freedom, and the clock was also turned red, white and blue in June in honour of D-Day 80 commemorations. Plus, still to come there is the Royal British Legion in November and the Salvation Army in December. The full list for 2024 is here.
Residents can nominate any local charity or organisation that benefits Weymouth and its different communities by completing a short form online: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BQ2F5H7
Nominations must be received by midday on Monday 11th November. The full list of nominations will then be considered before being publicised in December.
Mayor of Weymouth, Cllr Jon Orrell, said: “This is your chance to shine a light on the work of a local charity or organisation who you would like to be represented in next year’s Jubilee Clock light up scheme. So, please get your nominations in by midday on Monday 11th November to be in with a chance of being represented in 2025.”
