Community heroes named
Last night (Wednesday 20th March), the winners of the Mayor’s Community Awards received their certificates for their tireless efforts and passion they have for residents and communities in Weymouth.
The winners include:
Andy Price & The Veterans Hub – For their tireless efforts to enhance mental health support for veterans in Dorset.
Dave Privett – does a lot for people in the Weymouth community. His day job is around supporting people in sports and social groups and he often goes above and beyond for people outside of work. From advocacy, to helping people move, finding people appliances and support they might need, helping with forms and dealing with different organisations.
Eddie Farn – For attending council meetings over several years to ask questions and for being passionate about the residents of Weymouth.
Linda Stevenson, Dog Friendly Social – For her tieless work in promoting responsible dog ownership.
Michael McManus – For the donation of presents to those in need at Christmas time.
Rick Cleverly, Carry on Beating – For his tireless effort in raising funds to supply defibrillators outside three local pubs in Weymouth and at the Veterans Hub.
Teresea Drage – For all her efforts in raising funds for the Weymouth Royal National Lifeboat Association (RNLI).
Tony Horn – For his amazing dedication to keeping Wyke Regis clean, tidy, and free from litter.
Victoria and Georgia, Park Community Centre – These two individuals have gone above and beyond to pull together the park district community and make the best use of the Park Community Centre.
Weymouth Street Pastors – For their continued care and support shown to those during nights out, helping and working in the night time economy.
Congratulations and a big thank you to these winners who go the extra mile to help their community in many ways.
