Free use of car parks offered to charitable events in 2023
Event organisers in Weymouth are being invited to apply for free parking to support their event in 2023, thanks to a partnership between Weymouth Town Council and Dorset Council.
Four dates are available in 2023 when local organisations can use selected car parks for free for exciting events that will attract both residents and visitors to enjoy a day out in the town centre.
Local charities and community groups that are Weymouth-based can now request which car park(s) they would like to use free of charge by completing a short online survey. Survey runs until 9am on Monday 20th February.
The parking will be available on four dates in Dorset Council-operated car parks across Weymouth, excluding the month of December.
Mayor of Weymouth, Cllr Ann Weaving, said: “It’s great to work in partnership again with Dorset Council to provide free parking to support key events that bring people into Weymouth to enjoy a day out.
“Last year, events including the beach motocross, Remembrance Sunday and the Christmas lights switch-on drew big crowds to our seaside town. So, if you would like to apply for free parking to support your event this year, complete our short online survey today.”
How to apply
Go online to complete the survey. Alternatively, you can email events@weymouthtowncouncil.gov.uk to request a form.
The deadline is 9am on Monday 20th February. Applications will then be considered by Weymouth Town Council’s Services Committee on March 1st, before the successful organisations are announced.
