Community litter picks – kit bags for hire

Want to organise a community litter pick in Weymouth but don’t have the right equipment? Then we can help.

In partnership with with Litter Free Dorset, litter picking equipment is available to hire for free, to help reduce litter and improve the town’s appearance.

Kit bags

Two kits are available to hire containing:

30 x litter picking sticks (15 x adult / 15 x junior)

30 x high-vis vests (15 x adult / 15 x junior)

12 x bags with holding hoops

30 x pairs of gloves (15 x adult / 15 x junior)

Please note: Although there are gloves provided, we recommend individuals bring their own to remove any need for sharing. This is the responsibility of the organiser to assess and manage with the group taking part.

Booking the equipment

Booking the equipment is simple.

Contact us by emailing litterpicking@weymouthtowncouncil.gov.uk or calling 01305 239839 to check availability and make a booking. You will be given a date and time to collect the kit from the council office on Commercial Road, DT4 8NG.

Rubbish collection

Once you have confirmed the date of your litter pick, contact Dorset Waste Partnership to arrange collection of your bagged litter. This needs to be done ahead of the litter pick.
