Christmas 2022

There is plenty to enjoy in Weymouth this Christmas.

Steampunk Weekend December 2nd to 4th

The magical and mechanical returns to Weymouth over the weekend of the 2nd to 4th December. Bringing a touch of fantasy to Christmas celebrations there will be Steampunk events for all the family. Visitors can join in or observe with a Steampunk Fashion Show from local students, a Steampunk Christmas Market – perfect for one-of-a-kind Christmas gifts. And there is a variety performance to entertain all ages, and finally a promenade along seafront to take in the sea air.

Steampunk offers a unique take on the traditional Christmas and Weymouth is the first place to host a Steampunk Christmas Weekend – take a step into another world this festive season.

Events include:

Friday 2nd December

Fashion Gala – 7.30pm, The Royal Hotel.

Saturday 3rd December

Steampunk Market & Yuletide Songs – 10am to 4pm (songs 12pm – 2pm), Nothe Fort.

The Clan Dolmen Yule Ball – 8pm ’til late, Centenary Club.

Elf Letter Writing Workshops – 10am to 4pm, Cineworld.

Sunday 4th December

Steampunk Promenade – 11am, Meet at the Jubilee Clock for a stroll along the prom.

A Traditional Christmas 10th to 11th December

With Christmas just around the corner, what better way to get into the festive spirit than following the nativity story throughout the town?  Over the weekend of 10th and 11th December, Weymouth churches will come together to host nativity scenes; making this a beautiful and interactive way to immerse yourself in story of Christmas.  The event will culminate with carols around the Christmas tree in Hope Square, supported by the Salvation Army Band.

Saturday 10th December

Nativity Trail – 1pm to 3pm, throughout town centre.

Carols and Light Show – 4pm to 5pm, Hope Square.

Elf Letter Writing Workshops – 10am to 4pm, Cineworld.

Sunday 11th December

Farmers’ and Makers’ Market – 10am to 3pm, New Bond Street.

Elf Letter Writing Workshops – 10am to 4pm, Cineworld.

Light Up a Life Service – Lodmoor Country Park (further information to follow).

Community Charity Christmas Carol’s

A fun packed community charity Christmas Carol evening raising funds for Julian House.

Carols will be led by The Living Well and Wacapella choirs and with over 30+ choristers we will be creating an amazing atmosphere for all to enjoy.

SNOW is guaranteed and with a special appearance by Santa in his very own Gloucester Grotto, mixed with mulled wine, roasted chestnuts, mince pies and hot chocolate- this is an event for the whole family to enjoy

Santa Filled Fun 17th and 18th December

The weekend of the 17th and 18th December is all about Santa!  The letters written throughout the month will be collected by Father Christmas and taken off to the North Pole.

Making a pit-stop in his grotto, children can come and tell Santa whether they’ve been good!  The weekend will finish with the world-famous Pudding Run and Chase the Elf on Weymouth Beach. Hundreds of Santas take part in this festive race, all to raise money for local charities.

Saturday 17th December

Carols with The Salvation Army – 10am to 12pm, New Bond Street.

Meet Santa Claus – 10am to 4pm, Cineworld.

Street entertainers – 10am to 4pm, throughout the town centre.

Face painting – 12pm to 4pm, New Bond Street.

Sunday 18th December

Chase the Pudding Run – from 10.45am on Weymouth Beach, Pavilion end.

Meet Santa Claus – 10am to 4pm, Cineworld.

Face painting – 12pm to 4pm, New Bond Street.
