Round-up of Decisions from Full Council
From a pilot drone display to a motion on toilet charging, Full Council made the following decisions at a meeting held on Wednesday 29th July.
A motion was carried which removes automatic charging for public toilet access as part of the Council’s future toilet refurbishment programme. This will instead be decided on a case-by-case basis by the Environment and Services Committee as each of the toilet blocks on the refurbishment priority list come before the committee.
Following a recent survey asking for residents’ opinions on eight proposals for 20mph speed limits in the town, Councillors agreed the item be deferred to a future meeting of the Environment and Services Committee to consider the survey results in more detail.
Councillors also agreed to allocate funding of up to £10,000 for a pilot drone display which would be held in addition of this year’s November 5th Firework Night event. The 10-minute show would be in addition to the traditional firework display and beach bonfire, allowing the public to experience a drone show in Weymouth and feedback their views.
A revised Complaints Policy and a Planning with Purpose corporate planning document were agreed. It was also agreed that a council response to Dorset Council’s consultation on the Dog Control in Public Spaces Protection Order will not be submitted.
