Nominations open for the 2026 Jubilee Clock Light Up Scheme

Each year, Weymouth Town Council light up the iconic Jubilee Clock to raise awareness of good causes in colours that best represent the chosen charitable organisations. One charity will be featured each month, and the Town Council are looking for nominations for the 2026 light up scheme.

In 2025, the clockface has been illuminated in a range of colours to shine a light on the work of charities and in support of awareness days, all nominated by the public. From Weymouth Street Pastors, the Lantern Trust and Weymouth Lifeboat, to Cycling Without Age, Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and Space Youth Project, the landmark has put the spotlight on many fantastic organisations. The full list for 2025 is here.

Residents can nominate any local charity or organisation that benefits Weymouth’s different communities by completing a short online survey: Lighting up the Jubilee Clock for Charity

Nominations must be received by midday on Friday 28th November. The full list of nominations will then be considered before being publicised in December.

Mayor of Weymouth, Cllr Caroline Nickinson said: “We consider it an honour to light up Weymouth’s iconic Jubilee Clock to raise awareness of a variety of charitable organisations that do such wonderful work in our town. If you know of a local charity that could benefit from the light up scheme, this is your chance to put the spotlight on them, so please do get your nominations in by the closing date, midday on Friday 28th November.”
