Vote for your favourite award-winning greenspace

Earlier this year, three of Weymouth’s greenspaces received the prestigious green flag award, as Radipole Park and Gardens joined Sandsfoot Gardens and Greenhill Gardens to proudly fly the flag.

All three award-winning beauty spots are eligible for a ‘People’s Choice Top 10 Award’, and Weymouth Town Council is encouraging residents to vote.

Voting is open until 5pm on Friday 31st October, with the nation’s top 10 being announced at a virtual award ceremony on Thursday 20th November.

The Mayor of Weymouth, Cllr Caroline Nickinson is looking to gather support from residents, and says:

“As Mayor of Weymouth I would like to appeal for your help. Here in Weymouth we have a talented and hardworking team of gardeners looking after our parks and greenspaces who are aided by amazing volunteer Friends Groups. Together they have gained three Green Flag awards, and I would like to extend my gratitude to them all for all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes.

“All parks and gardens that received a Green Flag during 2025 are eligible for this award and this is the first time Weymouth Town Council has been awarded 3 Green Flags. Radipole Park and Gardens, Sandsfoot Gardens and Greenhill Gardens are all wonderful places to visit, and I would like to encourage all residents to vote for one or more of our award winners; how lovely it would be feature in the top 10!”
