Tumbledown to host Summer Games Event
Weymouth Town Council is looking forward to hosting a free ‘Summer Games’ themed event, based on classic fete games, taking place at Tumbledown on Thursday 28th August, between 10am and 1pm.
The Tumbledown team and volunteers have been busy on site creating and building a variety of fun and exciting games for everyone to get involved with. With activities ranging from hoopla, skittles and ping-pong to teddy racing, ‘monster mouth’ and splat the rat to name but a few, there will be lots to keep everybody entertained. You’ll also be able to participate in a deck chair renovation activity in the workshop, which will include painting and reupholstering the chairs.
Children will have the chance to get creative in the kitchen by taking part in biscuit icing sessions, whilst traditional arts and crafts will also be on offer. Refreshments will be available to purchase during the day.
Mayor of Weymouth, Cllr Caroline Nickinson, said: “The Summer Games event at Tumbledown promises to bring fun for the whole family, with an array of games based on what you might expect to find at a community fete. There will also be crafts and deck chair renovation sessions on offer, as well as refreshments.
“Tumbledown is a fantastic community asset which enables people to form social connections, learn new skills and experience the benefits of being in nature. And this fun event on Thursday 28th August will provide free entertainment for families in the last week of the summer holiday break.”
Tumbledown is located on Radipole Lane in Southill, with signage in place. Please note that parking is limited on site, so people are encouraged to walk or cycle where possible. For more information on Tumbledown, please visit the website.
