Weymouth Town Council celebrates Volunteers’ Week

National VolunteersWeek takes place from Monday 2nd June to Sunday 8th June, and Weymouth Town Council is proud to be joining the celebrations.

From the young people who give up their time to be representatives on the Weymouth Youth Council, to the various Friends groups working with the Council’s Greenspaces Team, to littler pickers, and the parade marshals who help with Armed Forces events, a big THANK YOU from Weymouth Town Council.

To the residents who give up their time to be members of the Council’s Climate and Ecological Emergency Working Group, or the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group, a big THANK YOU from Weymouth Town Council to each and every one of you.

Cllr Caroline Nickinson, Mayor of Weymouth, said: “We’re excited to join in with Volunteers Week and we would like to say a huge thank you to all the wonderful volunteers who make such a valuable contribution to our town.”

During the week, the Town Council will be showing its appreciation by shining a light on some of the numerous volunteers who help to do some fantastic work in the local community. Visit the Council’s Facebook page to stay up to date during #VolunteersWeek
