Annual Governance and Accountability Returns
Each year Weymouth Town Council’s Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR) needs to be reviewed by an external auditor appointed by the Smaller Authorities Audit Appointment Ltd. The audited AGAR was published on Tuesday 16th September and can be viewed below.
The Notice of the Conclusion of Audit was also published on Monday 16th September and can be viewed below. The Town Council is pleased to receive a clear audit.
The period of the Notice of Public Rights and publication of the Unaudited Annual Governance and Accountability Return was Monday 30 June 2025 to Friday 8 August 2025. However, the notice can still be viewed below along with the associated financial documentation.

Once the return has been approved by the External Auditor, the audited version is published on the Council’s website below.
The Annual Return includes the Annual Governance Statement and Accounting Statements which have been subject to both Internal and External Audit. The Internal Audit was performed by the internal auditors who are appointed each year and the External Audit was performed by BDO LLP. The External Auditor’s Report and Certificate form part of the Annual Return.
