Update on Weymouth beach attractions procurement process

Weymouth Town Council recently invited bids for long term concessions contracts for four seasonal attraction sites. Unfortunately only one bid met the specified criteria and so the process was not able to proceed as planned.

The full council have taken the decision to look at alternative short term contracts and will look to fill the attraction sites for this season and next. The council is in discussion with operators regarding this.

The council will take this opportunity to develop a long term strategy for the whole seafront, to guide future decisions on management. It will consider what might be the best opportunities for providing high quality attractions for residents and visitors. We will be welcoming ideas from the public for the longer term strategy later this year.
