20mph zones in Weymouth
Councillors also agreed that officers will work on a project looking into whether there is significant community support for 20mph zones/limits across the town. Residents will be consulted, and this could be through Dorset Council as part of the Local Transport Plan consultation in the autumn when people can feed in their views to a survey.
Land adjoining Southill Play Area – lease agreement
Weymouth Town Council has signed a lease agreement with Dorset Council to manage land in Southill that will benefit young people in the town.
The area is next to Southill Play Area and local residents have already raised money to have some new play equipment installed, complementing the existing facilities for children and young people in this part of the town.
