Nominations open for two Town Councillor vacancies

Weymouth Town Council is encouraging nominations from potential candidates for two councillor vacancies. A by-election will take place on Thursday 6 May if there are two or more nominations for each vacancy.

The vacancies are for Preston Ward and Wyke Regis Ward. No specific qualifications or experience are required, and most residents can be nominated as candidates if they have a passion for local issues and want to make a different in their community.

Potential candidates can now be nominated, the closing date is 4pm on Thursday 8 April. You can find the nomination form and more information about running as a candidate on the Electoral Commission website here.

Nomination papers must be hand delivered at South Walks House, South Walks Road, Dorchester DT1 1UZ. An appointment must be made prior to the visit.
