Mayor of Weymouth’s Christmas Fund Appeal is now… open for donations!
Cllr Colin Huckle, Mayor of Weymouth, is encouraging organisations to donate to the Mayor’s Christmas Fund Appeal.
Can you help Cllr Huckle to spread a bit of festive cheer in Weymouth this year?
Here’s a message from the Mayor:
Cllr Colin Huckle, Mayor of Weymouth, said: “I am pleased to launch my Christmas Fund Appeal to help raise some festive joy during these difficult times. With the support of Weymouth & Portland Lions Club, I ask you to consider making a donation.
“We were unable to organise a collection last Christmas due to the pandemic, so I am pleased that we are able to hold the appeal this year.
“The fund serves to meet the most critical needs of our communities and with your help will raise as much as possible to improve people’s lives.
“Every single penny raised will go to those who need it most. If you feel you can help with a donation, please get in touch.”
In previous years, the appeal has helped to provide:
- Christmas lunch for various groups of elderly and vulnerable people
- Donations to local food banks and soup kitchens
- Contribution to a local hospice, and many other great causes in the Weymouth area.
