All you need to know about summer firework displays in Weymouth
The countdown is on to Weymouth Town Council’s summer season of fireworks, with the first event on Monday 28th July – firing time 9.30pm.
Here’s all you need to know about the summer series:
Displays are on Monday evenings throughout the summer holidays, with each one starting at 9.30pm. They are fired from a boat out in the bay so viewing along the prom and Weymouth Central Beach is recommended.

Monday 25th August
At each display, there is a chance for individuals celebrating a birthday or special occasion to get a shout-out over the seafront PA system. Weymouth Town Council will be sharing details on their Facebook page with people asked to leave their first name and details of the special occasion.
As an exciting addition to this year’s firework events, Weymouth Town Council is collaborating with local radio station, AIR 107.2 to provide a soundtrack to the fireworks. To join in and enjoy the summer spectacle along with the music, people are encouraged to tune in to AIR 107.2 during the start of the display. The track listing is as follows:
Foo Fighters – The Pretender
Dua Lipa – Dance The Night
Florence & The Machine – Say My Name
The Greatest Showman – Come Alive
To make the firework night events more accessible, Weymouth Town Council has some ear defenders available for members of the public to borrow free of charge. This will be on a first come, first serve basis. To enquire about booking a pair, email resort@weymouthtowncouncil.gov.uk
Where possible, the Town Council is encouraging people to walk, cycle or use public transport to attend the events. Here’s a list of bus services operating after the fireworks conclude:
No 1. service to Portland
No 2. service to Littlemoor
No 4. service to Preston
No 10. service to Poundbury
The Park and Ride service will also still be operating, and you can find details here
You can find the timetables for the services above here
If you’re not able to walk, cycle or use public transport, drivers are advised there is plenty of space at the Swannery Car Park as it can get busy at the Pavilion.
Cllr Caroline Nickinson, Mayor of Weymouth, said: “I am really looking forward to the start of the summer firework displays in Weymouth, and I am delighted to be attending the first one on Monday 28th July. These events are always popular, with crowds gathering along the seafront to watch the fireworks light up the night sky and soak up the great atmosphere created on these special summer evenings, so I hope you can join us.”
For anyone who can’t attend in person, Weymouth Town Council will livestream the event on Monday 28th July on their Facebook page
