A summer afternoon of fun for all the family!

In the late middle ages, a church ale was a fundraising event for the parish that would include music and dancing, and at which ale was the chief drink. The formal largely disappeared from use after the Reformation, but we have revived it as a community event for the whole family. This year’s Church Ale at All Saints Wyke Regis will feature the twin delights of our famous Teddy Bear Zip Wire from the top of the church tower (give your favourite cuddly toy the ride of its life!) and the delightful music of Weymouth Concert Brass. With games and activities for children, including a Seaside Garden on a Tray competition (bring your own tray), fun for dog owners, stalls for everyone, and a tempting variety of food and drink to choose from, this is an event not to be missed. So bring your children, friends and family. Bring a chair too… and something to keep the rain off, just in case. The churchyard will be open from 1:45 pm. Free entry.
