Temporary Traffic Management Order, Town Bridge, Weymouth

Dorset Council has issued an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise likelihood of danger to highway users.
The Order comes in to operation on 25 September 2023 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 30 November 2023.
This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out essential maintenance works to bridge deck.
The effect of the Order is as follows and as indicated by signs on site:
[1] To impose temporary road closure on the Town Bridge, St Thomas Street – Pedestrian access will be unaffected
[2] To impose the reversal of the one way system on St Marys Street for its enitirety to allow access for deliveries
