The Nest Community Shop
The Nest is a not-for-profit community shop based in Weymouth. They provide cheap, good quality, nutritious food to families and individuals who have limited disposable income.
Where: The Waverley, 121 Abbotsbury Road, Weymouth, DT4 0JX – the entrance is around the side of the building.
When: Open from 10am to 2pm every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Members can visit once a week.
How does it work?
The shop is open to members, who are families and individuals with limited disposable income. Members pay £3.50 to choose 10 items from the shop. Households with 3 or more people in them have the option to pay £5 for any 15 items. Bread, vegetables, and fruit are totally free, so are not counted as one of the items.
How can I become a member?
People who would like to become a member can either self-refer or be referred by a partner organisation. If you think you could benefit from becoming a member, please get in touch with The Nest – you can either call, text, email, or message their Facebook page.
