The public are invited to a consultation event about Weymouth Town Council’s opportunity to develop Tumbledown Farm for community use.
The event will take place on Saturday 30th November at the Emmanuel Church in Southill from 11am-1pm.
The project is in its early stages, with a working group set up which includes councillors and officers from Weymouth Town Council and Dorset Council.
Current ideas for the future of the site include:
- Community petting farm
- Environmental education centre
- Allotments
- Horticultural therapy centre
- ‘Men’s Shed’
- Community food growing area
This an opportunity for residents to put forward their ideas and meet members of the working group.
Children are also welcome at this event and there will be child-friendly activities to keep the little ones occupied.
Mayor of Weymouth Town Council, Cllr Graham Winter, said: “Tumbledown Farm has the potential to become an invaluable community asset and it’s important that local residents get a chance to have their say on how this site should be used. We hope to get the site in use as soon as possible and we want the whole community to benefit from this asset.”
“Please come along on Saturday and get involved with this fantastic project.”
