Great local business support for Weymouth’s summer fireworks

Weymouth Town Council are delighted to recognise several local businesses that have come forward to support Weymouth’s bumper summer season of fireworks.

The seafront businesses that are currently supporting the summer fireworks are: Edward Danters Fun Fair; The Boat Café; The Helter Skelter Fun Park on the beach; Alexandra Gardens Pleasure Grounds; Bacaro Italian Restaurant; and Harvey’s Bar & Kitchen.

The fireworks will take place on every Monday in August (2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th August) on Weymouth Seafront, starting at 9.30pm. The displays will be provided by Pains and by Sirotechnics – two major national firework display companies.

Cllr Colin Huckle, Mayor of Weymouth Town Council, said:

“A big thank you to the seafront businesses that have come forward to support our summer season of firework displays. Weymouth’s famous firework displays attract many thousands of people from our local and visitor communities creating a unique family fun atmosphere along the seafront. The support of local business, local organisations and volunteers is at the heart of Weymouth’s bumper annual events programme, a collaboration and spirit that we are very proud of”.

Weymouth’s summer season of fireworks will be returning to the traditional Monday night, attracting many thousands of visitors and creating one of the town’s great annual event spectacles. Visitors will be able to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the many entertainment and hospitality opportunities on the seafront, town centre, and magnificent harbourside.

All visitors to the summer firework evenings are also encouraged to enter the weekly Win £500 Cash free entry draw. Entry forms will be available at Alexandra Gardens Pleasure Grounds on Weymouth Seafront (Pavilion end) from 7pm-9pm on firework nights, with the winner being announced on the seafront public address system at 9.15pm each night. The competition prize money is provided by Alexandra Gardens.

This year, Weymouth Town Council has teamed up with local business Travel Trunk to produce a short fireworks promotional video that will be launched and shared on social media platforms throughout the Weymouth summer firework season.
