Conclusion of Audit 2022-23

The External Audit for the 2022-23 financial year has now been completed. Please find the relevant return and notice below.

Each year the Council is required to complete and submit to its External Auditor, an Annual Governance and Accountability Return.

Notice of Public Rights and Publication of Unaudited Annual Governance and Accountability Return 2022/23

Each year Weymouth Town Council’s Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR) needs to be reviewed by an external auditor appointed by the Smaller Authorities’ Audit Appointments Ltd. The unaudited AGAR has been published with this notice. As it has yet to be reviewed by the appointed auditor, it is subject to change as a result of that review.

Annual Return – Previous Years

Once the return has been approved by the External Auditor, the audited version is published on the Council’s website below.

The Annual Return includes the Annual Governance Statement and Accounting Statements which have been subject to both Internal and External Audit.  The Internal Audit was performed by the internal auditors who are appointed each year and the External Audit was performed by PKF Littlejohn LLP. The External Auditor’s Report and Certificate form part of the Annual Return.
