SUMMARY:CHESIL ROCKS
DESCRIPTION:Chesil Rocks has been an annual music and arts festival since 2012\, with all proceeds going to Samaritans of Dorset. At our 2024 event\, we raised another £17\,000 for the charity\, representing 42.5% of their annual budget\, and bringing our total raised for Samaritans over the years to £125\,000. \nChesil Rocks will be on 21st June this year at the Pavilion Theatre in Weymouth. We have the most amazing day planned\, with topline comedy led by compere Tom Glover and top line comedians Nina Gilligan and Jake Lambert\, plus a variety of awesome musical acts including Dorset Rock Choir\, the Fabulous Portesham Ukulele Band with Sam Brown and friends\, Chris Davies\, Electronique\, Upton\, McIntosh\, Wilson and friends\, sensational rock covers band Balance of Power\, The Pete Brown Blues Band and the fabulous London Gay Men’s Chorus \nWith no government funding\, our Samaritans – who are all volunteers – need to raise £40\,000 each year to keep their branch open and maintain their service. Our contribution enables them to worry less about fundraising and focus more on what they do best.
