SUMMARY:Cold War Bunker Talks & Tours
DESCRIPTION:Join us in marking National Cold War Heritage Week with special tour and talks of the Fort’s Cold War Nuclear Bunker! \nLearn about the secret system that was put in place during the Cold War era that enabled a select number of people to survive a nuclear strike. \nIn 1983\, unbeknown to the local community\, part of Nothe Fort was secretly converted into a local authority emergency centre as part of the UK’s defence preparations for nuclear war. \nAccommodation\, control\, and operations rooms were created for local council employees who would have taken control of disaster relief and reconstruction of local infrastructure in the event of a nuclear war. \nThe existence of the centre was known by very few people at the time and knowledge of its existence is still limited today. \nCome and join our friendly and knowledgeable team of volunteers for a unique insight into how this much-loved Victorian fort was secretly utilised during the latter part of the Cold War. \nNuclear Bunker Talk Times ~\nIn the Engine Room at 11:30am\, 12:30pm\, and 2:00pm.\nThere will be items from our Cold War Collection on display during the talk. \nBook your FREE Talk ticket on arrival at the Shop desk. First come\, first served. \nThis talk is not suitable for young children.\nFor any queries\, please contact info@nothefort.org.uk \nADMISSION INFORMATION:\nPrice of admission to the Fort or an Annual Pass will need to be purchased first. Talk tickets are free and can be booked on the day on arrival – first come first served. \nWhat3Words Location for Nothe Fort: dogs.claim.nest\nParking: parking is available outside the fort at Nothe Car Park (What3Words: mixed.stuck.serve) \nSeating Provided: – There is seating provided for the talk\, and there are seats all around the Fort if required while on site. \nFood and Drink: The Fort View Café will be open for the duration of this event. \nDogs: We are a dog-friendly museum. We ask that all dogs remain on short leads at all times. Please expect to see dogs in the Fort during your visit. \nWheelchair User Access: Nothe Fort is mostly wheelchair accessible and has a lift to all three levels.\nIf you have any access requirements before your visit\, please contact Nothe Fort ahead of your visit (01305 766626).

SUMMARY:A Midsummer Night's Dream
DESCRIPTION:“I have had a most rare vision. I have had a dream\, past the wit of man to say what dream it was.” \nThe woods outside Athens are busy this night. Four young Athenian lovers are lost. Oberon and Titania\, the king and queen of the fairy-folk\, are quarrelling whilst a group of craftsmen (who also happen to be some not-so-very-talented actors) are meeting in secret to rehearse their play. \nWith its many parts\, Shakespeare’s story of love\, mistaken identity and magic has remained popular with audiences across the world. This Is My Theatre’s critically-acclaimed production returns this Summer to delight audiences again!
