DESCRIPTION:5pm – Christmas Lights Switch On\nJoin us on Saturday 29th November at the New Bond Street stage where the Mayor of Weymouth\, the Primary Times competition winner and the panto cast will switch on the town’s Christmas lights\, trees and giant Christmas Elf. Don’t forget to join in the countdown!\nPlus\, there’s a huge variety of events throughout the day to get you in the festive mood: \n\n 9am–12pm – Elf Craft Workshops\nKickstart your transformation into a fully-fledged elf with fun drop-in workshops. Make your own hats\, ears and collars\, and add a touch of magic with festive face-painting. \n\n\n 12pm–1pm – Registration at Weymouth Pavilion\nHead to the Pavilion to sign in\, grab your wristband and be counted in the official record attempt. Don’t forget the group photo taking place at 1pm! \n\n\n 1:15pm–2pm – Dorset’s Largest Elf Parade\nWatch (or join!) the streets flood with elves as the parade moves through town\, filled with singing\, laughter and festive cheer. A marching band and Santa in his sleigh lead the way! \n\n\n 1pm–5pm – Afternoon of Live Entertainment\nThe main stage will be packed with performances all afternoon — expect cheeky elves\, the panto cast\, local choirs\, dance groups\, Under the Carousel\, party band The Wilkinsons \, stilt walkers\, street performers\, buskers and loads of local shops and eateries joining the celebration. The perfect family festive outing! \n\n\n\nStick around after the lights switch on and enjoy the brilliant sounds of The Hooked  before heading out to explore Weymouth’s pubs\, clubs and venues — some hosting special Elf parties! \n\n\n\n\n All Christmas Season\n• Take part in the ELF Trail\, with a prize draw between Christmas and New Year offering gifts\, tickets\, discounts and more from local shops\, attractions and restaurants. \n• Don’t miss the Christmas Sparkle competition\, where businesses dress their windows in their brightest\, twinkliest festive displays. \n\n\nOrganised by We Are Weymouth UK in partnership with Weymouth Town Council \n\n

DESCRIPTION:Weymouth is once again hosting its Elf Extravaganza for the 2024 lights switch on!  Including elf-themed festivities from hat-making and gingerbread decorating\, not forgetting Dorset’s Largest Elf Parade\, where we will fill the town with the sound of elves singing throughout the streets\, all led by a marching band and Santa in his sleigh and who knows\, maybe smash a record whilst we’re at it – so don your elf fancy dress and come along for the fun.\n\nWith a main stage of entertainment throughout the afternoon\, including fun and japes with naughty elves\, the Panto cast\, local schools and dance groups\, The Leggomen\, street performers\, Stilt walkers and a host of shops and eateries all joining in the fun\, it’s the perfect festive family day out.\n\nAt 5pm the town’s Christmas lights\, trees and Christmas Elf will officially be switched on from the main stage in New Bond Street\, and you can get into the festive spirit and experience Weymouth’s wide variety of pubs and clubs some staging Elf parties.
