SUMMARY:Winter Walkies fundraiser for Margaret Green Animal Rescue
DESCRIPTION:Our winter Walkies on Sunday 1st December 2024 at 1.30pm will start from our gazebo on the beach you will find us in the area close the Pavilion. This is the sixth year we will be raising funds for charity with a walk and inviting everyone to join us.\nWe always give out free poo bags and treats for the dogs\, plus we have some goody bags from Dave Cumber Vets who always supports our event. A suggested donation of £2 will go directly to Margaret Green to help animals in their care\, each year unfortunately they see animals of all types being signed over to them\, so many wait for their forever homes.\nOur walk will leave the area at 1.30pm and you can decide how far you walk we wanted to make the walk accessible for all\, our volunteers will guide you along the beach and direct you to bins on the Esplanade\, where all types of litter can be disposed of. We have many places to stop for refreshments for you and your dogs. We ask you to keep your dogs under close control and consider other beach users. If you prefer to walk on the Esplanade\, dogs must be on fixed leads please be mindful of cyclists and pedestrians\, please invite your friends and family your dog breed groups if you have a rescue dog from Margaret Green please let us know we like to share photos of their rescue dog taking part in our walks

SUMMARY:Armed Forces Weekend
DESCRIPTION:WHAT TO EXPECT\nFriday 21st June \nArmour & Embarkation\, 6.30pm – 8.30pm \nA convoy of WWII military vehicles will park up at The Jubilee Clock Tower on Weymouth Seafront. Come along and view the vehicles\, ask questions and immerse yourselves in the experience of a large number of WWII vehicles in one location. \nSaturday 22nd June \nSaturday will see the arrival of the historic military vehicles on the Pavilion Forecourt from 10am-3.30pm. There will be music and entertainment from the era\, with times to be announced. Come along and watch the historic vehicles leave the forecourt and give them a cheer as they parade along the Esplanade. There will be Various Association Charity and Awareness stalls will be on the Esplanade throughout the day. \nSunday 23rd June \nAt 11am\, Weymouth Seafront with host an open air service for all veterans at the Cenotaph\, this will be followed by a Parade along the Seafront with marching bands and military vehicles. If you would like to take part in the Service and Parade\, please register below and see more information. \nAfternoon entertainment including marching band performances\, display of historic vehicles and stalls along the Seafront. \nMonday 24th June \nAt 10.30am\, Weymouth Town Council will be raising the Armed Forces Flag at the The New Town Hall on Commercial Road\, Weymouth\, DT4 8NG.

DESCRIPTION:The Classic is Weymouth Beach Volleyball Club’s flagship event.  It was the first ever Beach Volleyball event held in Great Britain when it began in 1983.  It remains Britain’s most prestigious event and was described by British Beach legend Denise Austin as the ‘ Wimbledon’ of British Beach Volleyball.  On their site you can find a list of previous winners and Players of the  Tournament which reads like a Who’s Who of British Beach Volleyball players.
