An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Business and Finance Team working at the heart of the Council’s democratic process. We are a small team who are dedicated in supporting our Councillors and officers with the Council’s decision-making processes.
We are looking for someone with administrative experience to join our team to:
- Organise and support all meetings of the council, to ensure they function in accordance with statutory and constitutional requirements
- Provide an effective and efficient administrative support service for other meetings, decision making processes and independent appeals.
If you are passionate about good governance, with first class organisational skills, and love working in a fast-paced environment then we’d love to hear from you. You will be dynamic and flexible in your approach and have excellent communication skills, preferably with experience in managing regulatory meetings. The role will develop so that the post holder will clerk the Planning and Licencing Committee where full training and support will be provided. Ideally you will have experience of remote meeting technology (such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom).
If you are the successful candidate, you will be joining a highly effective and capable team in Weymouth, a stunning part of Dorset.
We’re offering hybrid home/office based working options with the ability to work from home two days a week.
There will be a need to attend evening meetings on average once a week (starting at 7pm for which flexi time is accrued).
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join the Local Government Pension Scheme, and holiday entitlement for a full year is 24 days plus public holidays, increasing after five years.
