TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ORDER, VARIOUS ROADS, DORSET – FOR ‘IRONMAN WEYMOUTH 70.3’ 2022

For the purpose of IRONMAN WEYMOUTH 70.3 TRIATHLON, Dorset Council has made an Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation [Special Events] Act 1994 to;
 prohibit the use of the roads described below by cyclists, horse riders and all mechanically propelled vehicles;
 impose temporary one way systems, on roads described in the table below;
 Reverse existing one way systems, on roads described in the table below;
 Revoke existing one way systems, on roads described in the table below;
 Impose a clearway to include no waiting, loading or unloading with tow away authorisation on roads described in the table below.
 Revoke the existing loading bay and impose a temporary taxi rank, outside ‘The Gloucester’, 1-20 Gloucester Lodge, The Esplanade, Weymouth.
 To revoke the existing prohibition of driving order in Lower St Alban Street, which starts at the junction with St Nicholas Street between 06:00hrs and 19:00hrs.
 To suspend the bus lane on the Esplanade (southbound) from Westerhall for its entirety.
 impose a Temporary 10mph Speed Limit, as described in the table below;
All restrictions above apply to all mechanically propelled vehicles, horse riders and cyclists, except those participating in the event; those given exemption by the event organiser, any emergency service vehicle. The Order will not, at any time, prevent access of pedestrians to premises situated on or adjacent to any road to which the order relates, or to any premises only accessible to pedestrians from such a road. The restrictions will apply on the 18 September 2022, unless stated otherwise, at such times as indicated in the table below, to facilitate the Ironman event. The restrictions are required to facilitate the event, (Ironman Weymouth 70.3) and to facilitate traffic flow throughout the duration of the event, and to ensure the safety of all road users and participants affected/taking part in the event.
