Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Temporary Closure of Part of Public Footpath 74, Weymouth, (This is Part of The South West Coast Path).

Dorset Council has issued a Order under Section 14  of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrians will be prohibited from proceeding along part of footpath 74 from grid reference SY 659 767 (point A on the map below) to grid reference SY 666 762 (Point B on map below) a distance of approximately 900 metres. The reverse route applies.
The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation on the 01 April 2020 for a period of 26 weeks. The order will be valid for 26 weeks and can be extended by the secretary of state.
This closure is needed due to the path now having fallen into the sea with no walkable width remaining.
