SUMMARY:Carols by the Coast
DESCRIPTION:Weymouth Town Council is pleased to announce a festive new addition to the events calendar this year\, held in the run up to Christmas. \nThe Mayor of Weymouth\, Cllr Kate Wheller invites everyone to join her at the Council’s carol service\, ‘Carols by the Coast’. Music will be provided by The Salvation Army Band at the event\, which is happening on Saturday 2nd December. The fun starts at 5pm to 6pm and will be held by the additional Christmas tree near the Beach Office on the Promenade. \nMayor of Weymouth\, Cllr Kate Wheller\, said: “Join me for Carols by the Coast\, a brand-new festive event being organised by Weymouth Town Council\, which I’m hosting as Mayor.” \n“We’ve got music courtesy of the Salvation Army band\, mulled wine\, and mince pies\, and plenty of festive cheer with two of the Westhill donkeys in attendance for a great Christmas photo! Plus\, there’s still more exciting details to be announced. This day also marks Small Business Saturday where there will be free parking in Weymouth’s town centre car parks that are operated by Dorset Council. So\, why not pop down after a busy day of shopping and join me at this year’s Carols by the Coast.” \nMelanie Llewellyn\, owner of Westhill Donkeys said: “We are very much looking forward to being a part of the Mayor’s Carol Service\, Annie and Dainty are looking forward to meeting everyone. Giving lots of donkey hugs and hopefully some beautiful photos too! \n“Although you won’t be able to feed them\, as sometimes they mistake fingers for carrots. They would love it if you brought some bananas\, carrots or apples for them to take home to share with all the other donkeys in the family. We very much look forward to hearing everyone singing\, especially the all-time favourite… Little Donkey.” \nThere is also free parking at participating Dorset Council car parks in Weymouth town centre during the day.
